So Pennsic 39 we were sitting in camp and one of my camp-mates told a story about the Woods Battle that day, and how they couldn’t find the entire kingdom of Atlantea for a large length of time. He had been posted under Master Ferrel, and so I hope the good Master doesn’t mind me using his name in this song. That tale inspired me to write this song.
This is to the tune of “All In The Woods So Green-O”
- Atlantea has missing men
- It seems we’ve lost a kingdom then
- Where they’ve gone we cannot ken
- All in the deep woods battle
- Chorus:
- “Master Farrel” – “Yes sir”
- “Find them all – missing knights”
- Hey now, Ho now, where’s their Crown
- All in the deep woods battle
- The first one was a belted knight
- Who was resting from the fight
- When enemies hit him, he’d call “light”
- All in the deep woods battle
- (Chorus)
- The second was the King’s right hand
- The third was leading ten good men
- To reinforce the flag again
- All in the deep woods battle
- (Chorus)
- Searching high and searching low
- While stick-jocks jostled to and fro
- Where they’ve gone, we do not know
- All in the deep woods battle
- (Chorus)
- Atlantea’s been found again
- With their hundred missing men
- Where they’ve been we cannot ken
- All in the deep woods battle.
