Imagination!

Here’s a fun little song that can be sung with pretty much any 4 line nursery rhyme out there, so have fun adding your own verses to it.  It’s my goal to someday have as many verses as the Birthday Dirge.  Someday.  Maybe.

  • Can you ride on dragon’s wings?
  • Can you hear the Siren sing?
  • Can you find the Unicorn
  • And be healed with a touch of her horn?
  • Chorus: Imagination runs ‘round wild
  • In the Imagination of a child!
  • Imagination never fails~
  • Come and join this faerie tale!
  • Snow White, with gentle hand
  • Was the fairest in the land
  • Ate and apple, fell asleep,
  • The Prince woke her up with a kiss on the cheek
  • Can you cast a mighty spell?
  • Release a gryphon from its shell?
  • Or slog your way through field and fen
  • Can you speak to both gods and men?
  • Pinnochio was a wooden toy
  • Wanted to be a real boy
  • His nose grew long when he told lies
  • The Blue Faerie brought him to life!
  • Do you believe in all these tales
  • With child-like trust that never fails?
  • If you, too, can do these things
  • You will be richer than any king!

Suggested nursery rhymes: Jack & Jill, Mary Mary Quite Contrary, Little Bo Peep, Little Boy Blue, Humpty Dumpty, etc – really, anything that fits the scansion.
